Student Success statement
“When I was teaching basketball, I urged my players to
try their hardest to improve on that very day, you make that practice a
masterpiece.
This rule is more important in life than
basketball. You have to apply to yourself each day to become a little better.
By applying yourself to becoming a little better each and every day over a
period of time, you become a lot better. Only then will you be able to approach
being the best you can be. It begins by trying to make each day count and
knowing you can never make up for a lost day.”
John Wooden
Reflection: I agree that everyone should
try their best every day to make themselves a little better. If no one tries
than what are they living for anyways? A lot of people talk about how they will
become great successful people but most of them don’t even try in school and
their studies. You always have to try hard to become what you want to be and to
accomplish your goals. For example, a few minutes ago my goal was to write this
reflection but I had no idea what to write. I was going to give up but then I thought
about what John Wooden said and decided not to fail.
