Student Success Statement

Student Success Statement

“Everyone is the architect of their own learning.”
Claudius

Reflection: I agree with this statement because no one else can learn for you besides yourself. You build your own learning therefore you are the architect of your own knowledge. Only you can build your knowledge because it all depends on whether or not you choose to learn. All the things you know are because you chose to learn them instead of ignoring them and not know anything.

student success statement

Student Success Statement
“You have only always to do what is right. It will become easier by practice, and you enjoy the midst of your trials the pleasure of an approving conscience.”
Robert E. Lee
Reflection: When is it the right time to do something right? Now is the time. It will always a good time to do something right. The more you decide to do the right things the more you’ll get used to them and the easier it will get. Not only will it get easier but will also change your life and even the lives of those around you. If you choose the right you can influence others to do the same. Making the right choices will bring positive Karma to your life therefore making your life easier and happier little by little.

“I think it better to do right, even if we suffer in so doing, than to incur the reproach of our consciences and prosperity.”

-Robert E. Lee

Reflection: I agree with what Robert E. Lee has quoted. It is better to do the right even if it’s hard because afterwards you will get positive consequences. It’s better to do the right and suffer only a little than to do the wrong and suffer with those choices for a long time. It’s good to just do the right when you have the chance than to do nothing or than to do something wrong.

Note-Taking Strategies Part 1

Note-Taking Strategies
Part 1

How to get Your Class Notes into Shape

Getting the most out of high school and college means studying hard and using your time in class wisely. An effective note-taking strategy  help you do both. Here are the basics.
Stay Organized It may seem obvious, but your class notes can only help you if you can find them. When you’re taking notes be sure to:
·
Keep all your notes in one place
·        Date and number pages; keeping them in order makes it easier to understand them later.

Before Class
Review the materials assigned for that class period thoroughly. Bring a list of any questions you may have.

Balancing High School and Part-Time Work Part 4

Balancing High School and Part-Time Work

Part 4

He reminds students that “the activates and courses students choose wary considerably, so it’s important for young people to keep their individual situation clearly in mind.” MacGowan continues, “for example, student’s actors should allow for the fact that they won’t have such time during performance sessions. Student athletes need to remember the times of the years of the year that they’ll be tried up with games and practice. Other students who are in classes that make considerable demands outside of the classrooms must keep that reality in mind.”

Balancing high-school and part-time work. Part 1

Balancing high-school and part-time work.
Part 1
Like many high school student, you may want—or need –to work part-time. Working takes a lot of time and energy, though, so before getting a job, make sure that you think about your ability to handle both work and your education.
Important considerations
You have to weigh a number of factors when deciding whether to take on a part—time job. It’s important to get as much information as possible, so you can figure out what choice makes the most sense for you.
Schedule a meeting with your school counselor to discuss the idea of working. Talk to your counselor about why you want to work and what type of job you would like.

“To know what is right and not do it is the worst cowardice.”

-Confucius

Reflection: By definition cowardice means “lack of bravery “. The fact that people decide to do wrong even when they know what is right is a very poor quality of people. Therefore I agree with what Confucius has quoted because if you know what is right then do it. There is no need to change your mind and go for the bad decisions in life.
